Imadoki no Shishunki

Contrast to the silliness of Jajauma Narashi, this story has a more serious, almost somber note to it. The story centers around two friends, one of which is very tall for his age. Monchi seems to like portraying her seme characters as much larger than their uke counterparts, while still remaining slender and lean. At any rate, they always seem to tower over their lovers (see pictures below). But that's ok because I love taller guys too! (^_^)
The taller boy, Danzou, has matured much faster than his peers and must to come to grips with his feelings for his best friend Shou-chan. The story starts off cutely enough, but later on, during one dark, rainy day we find that Danzou has lost control of himself. What results very nearly drives them apart.
Monchi-sensei's stories range from one extreme to the other, from hilarious gag to somber angst. This story is more of the former, without the sight gags and SD character expressions. And while I do love those, this one as well should satisfy your need for angsty, coming of age tales.
